The real draw on the way out is the soft-serve ice cream. Twenty-four flavors are available, including espresso, pistachio chocolate twist, blueberry banana, and German chocolate peanut butter. On a warm afternoon after a few miles of trail, it is just about perfect.

There is outdoor porch seating where you can sit and watch other hikers come and go. If you have kids along, plan on stopping here.

Stock up on breakfast staples, snacks, and anything you plan to cook. Once you are settled at the cabin, the last thing you want is a drive back into town for a forgotten item.

Plan at least one dinner out. With restaurants in Hocking Hills like Kindred Spirits and Millstone BBQ within a short drive, it would be a shame not to.
